Women Leaders Sought
WCRC is seeking leaders for its volunteer Board of Directors. If terms like general ledger, budget allocations and fund accounting make your heart sing -- have we got a job for you! Our greatest need now is for a financial expert to assume the role of Treasurer of the Board. We actively recruit for Board members and other key volunteer positions to suppor the work of WCRC. We especially seek women of color, women from the LBT communities, and those who have a history of cancer. Please contact our executive director, Mary Tunison, if you would like to know more: mary@wcrc.org.

She will be discussing the history of green tea, the different types of teas, and the effect of decaffeination on antioxidant content. She will also be highlighting some of the latest evidence showing that green tea contains potent antioxidants that strengthen the immune response which may in turn lower one’s chances of developing certain types of cancer. Participants will have a chance to ask questions and sample an array of green teas afterward.

A Woman's Love | Preview of the show!
The WCRC Gallery is pleased to feature the vibrant figurative soft pastel work of local artist Kelvin Curry. The show runs April 2 through April 30th, 2004. A reception with the artist will be on Friday, April 2, 6-8 PM. The reception is sponsored by Local Realtor Antonette Burroughs

Curry participates in the annual "The Art of Living Black,"(TAOLB) Bay Area Open Studios for African American artists as well as numerous other venues. Curry says about his work, "I have followed an irresistible desire to represent profound tenderness. What interests me most is neither still life nor landscape, but the human figure. It is through it that I best succeed in expressing the spiritual feeling that I have towards life."

Curry will be graciously donating 25% of his sales to the Women's Cancer Resource Center.

The WCRC Gallery is located at 5741 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland. It is wheelchair accessible. There is no charge for the show or the reception. Gallery hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
