Barbeque for Sisters
The start of the new fiscal year means the start of fundraising
here at the Center. We are excitied to kick off this year
with a new event--The Barbeque for Sisters! Join us for
great food and lots of fun -- a special barbeque feast at
Everett & Jones, 126 Broadway, Jack London Square, on
Sunday, July 18, 3-7pm, to support the Sister to Sister
program of the Womens Cancer Resource Center, this
program serves African American women who have cancer. We
all know the statistics of how hard cancer hits the African
American community--and Sister to Sister is one of the best
programs in the East Bay to help women in their crisis.
So come on down and enjoy the best BBQ around. We are asking
for you to purchase your tickets before the event. So stop
by the Center or call 601-4040 x 100 for your ticket today!
Kaching! Kaching!
The WCRC is seeking a woman with financial/business expertise
to become our Treasurer of the Board of Directors. It is
a chance to work with a great group of women on the Board,
a terrific staff and insure the long term financial viability
of the Center. Please call/email Mary Tunison, Executive
Director at the Center if you want to learn more or ask
questions. 510/601-4040 ext 101 or mary@wcrc.org
Thanks, Chaya!
We are seeking a new Treasurer as Chaya Spector, who has
served our organization for 13 years, is taking a break.
She has done marvelous work for is and is the reason that
the WCRC is about to celebrate its 19th year of service
to women with cancer. How can we ever thank you, Chaya?
Know that you have our deepest appreciation, greatest respect
and are one of the Center's dearest friends. We look forward
to seeing more of you around the Center--just not as a board
member. Have a great summer!
New Beginnings!
It is the beginning of a new fiscal year for the Womens

Mary Tunison, celebrates her one year anniversary with us.
