To mark the Women's Cancer Resource Center’s 20th Anniversary, we are organizing a story telling session designed to capture key milestones in our history.

The information we gather will help us tell our story in compelling ways as we promote and celebrate our 20 years of evolution and accomplishments and develop our case for giving.

Please join us on June 29 from 6:00 – 7:30 at the Center. Light refreshments will be served.

We invite you to come to share and listen and also ask you to suggest other people we should include. If you cannot join us, let me know if you have a story you would like to share and I will contact you.

Please respond by June 23. Thank you!

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Judy Hungerford, a long-term volunteer and supporter of the Women's Cancer Resource Center. Over the years Judy contributed hundreds of hours of her time doing office work, proofreading the newsletter, and whatever else was necessary. Judy gave so much of herself to WCRC because she had lost her beloved sister to cancer.

In this second annual show, the Women's Cancer Resource Center Gallery features the artwork of more than a dozen local artists who are members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender communities. The show runs through July 30th, 2006.

A reception with the artists will be on Friday, June 30th, 6-9 PM. There will be live music by local vocalist and songwriter, Melanie DeMore who is a member of the renowned Cultural Heritage Choir. The show is generously co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

Volunteering at WCRC

WCRC Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering with WCRC is a really fun thing to do! When you volunteer at a community, health or volunteer fair, you have the opportunity to find out about the great work being done at other organizations, in addition to hearing great music, browsing through beautiful art and tasting delicious food. Please contact me if you would like to sign up to staff the WCRC table at the San Francisco Pride Event. The shifts will probably be for about 2 or 3 hours each and we try to have at least 2 people per shift. One person stops by the center to pick up the materials prior to the event and another person returns the materials sometime the following week. Call Sarah at 510.601.4040 x 105.
