Swim a Mile Antioxidance
On August 26 from 4-7 pm, we are hosting the Swim a Mile AntioxiDance at the center. In addition to healthy refreshments, belly dancing and salsa dancing demonstrations and lessons, we will feature successful swim training and fundraising strategies from your fellow swimmers to help you build strength and raise money for WCRC.

Please join your fellow swimmers and WCRC supporters to learn more about the Women's Cancer Resource Center, enjoy belly dancing and salsa dancing and take home fundraising and swim training tips.

Healing Tapestry Project
The WCRC will be featuring a special art project at this year’s annual fundraiser, the Swim A Mile for Women with Cancer, for swimmers to commemorate and honor those for whom they are swimming. This project is called the Healing Tapestry Project and each swimmer is invited to decorate their own individual cloth “flag” to commemorate the person or persons of whom they are swimming in honor or in memory.

We are in need of volunteers with sewing machines or volunteers with knowledge in sewing (or even simply sewing machines that we can borrow for the night) to join us the evening of Tuesday, August 8th from 4pm to 7pm to attach ribbon to donated cloth napkins.

Please RSVP to Ali, Swim A Mile Coordinator, at ali@wcrc.org or 510/527-1918 if you are able to join us.

Other events include: Gentle Yoga for Health and Healing, T'ai Chi Chih for Balance and Well-being, Yarn Divas for knitters and other crafters, Writing and Performance Workshops with members of the Mothertongue Feminist Theater Collective & Writing for Wellness.

Please see our calendar for more times, location, and how to register.
