What will be covered

  • How Black patients, families and caregivers are partnering with and advising researchers on what is important to them.
  • How this new approach to research — called patient-centered outcomes research — can make a positive difference in the African American community.
  • What lessons have been learned from this new approach to research and why it’s important for Black people with asthma.

Speakers

  • Elliot Israel, MD, professor of medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is lead researcher of the PREPARE study, which examines asthma in African American and Hispanic/Latino populations.
