A Date with Classical Music with Jing-Yi Chung

Classical music has been shown to improve people’s well-being by allowing stress relief, mood improvement, and many more. Come join us to learn more about classical music composers from different eras, from Bach, Mozart, to Chopin. We will be listening to their life stories and music, but most importantly, we will be exploring our own feelings inspired by the various classical pieces. Classical music is not a form of distant art, but a treasure that contains rich emotions and stories.

Join us for a virtual book club, every other Sunday afternoon!

At our first meeting we’ll chat about possible books to kick start the summer with. Please join to suggest books for the group to read, share your thoughts and views on the books as we go, and most of all have fun and continue to stay in touch with the WCRC community!

Our book club coordinator is Annika Anderson, a longtime WCRC volunteer and bookworm.

This class is designed for anyone interested in learning how yoga can support those going through and/or recovering from their cancer journey.

These supportive practices’ will assist in creating ease and comfort in the body, with focus on lymph distribution & immune and nervous system support.

We will move slowly into basic yoga poses while using the breath as a tool to remain present and mindful.

Classes are suitable for beginners as well as advanced students.

(*Recommend Props: blankets, pillows, yoga blocks)

“My intention is to make yoga accessible to all. Especially to those that may think yoga isn’t for them and/or may be intimidated about where and how to start.”

nialla rose has been formally studying Tai Chi for 3 years. She has been collaborating with her Tai Chi Chih teacher and other movement partners to make this form of Qi Gong accessible and available to everyone. You don’t need shoes or special clothing, simply an open mind. Movements can be practiced standing or seated, the qi, or life energy, in us all effortlessly flows.
