Cassandra Falby, former WCRC Program Director, is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Oakland, California. She sees clients living with chronic illness among other populations. Her clinical interests include attachment theory, intergenerational trauma, and values-based therapeutic interventions.
While at WCRC, she worked to expand its community presence through collaboration with healthcare providers and other community support organizations like Zero Breast Cancer, Kaiser Permanente, and Pacific Center for Human Growth. She brought her relational style to WCRC which enhanced its culture and programs. Cassandra led efforts to organize WCRC’s Latina Wellness Gathering, an annual conference for Spanish-speaking women living with cancer.
Her commitment to social justice and equity movements spans almost 30 years, starting as a grassroots organizer in the Midwest. She continues to be an advocate for historically marginalized communities (BIPOC, LGBTQ, disabled) and is dedicated to creating welcoming spaces where people can make magic happen and thrive.
