The JanRae Community Art Gallery

The JanRae Community Art Gallery started showing the work of local artists in 1997. The gallery was named after Jan Hart-Schuyers and Rae Louise Hayward, the co-founders of The Art of Living Black (TAOLB) and wonderful local artists who passed away from cancer.

Hundreds of established and emerging artists have shown their work in the gallery, which winds throughout WCRC, beautifying the space.

There are usually four group shows each year. Each show has an artist reception with refreshments and live music. Shows are announced on the WCRC webpage, in the quarterly printed calendar and in the monthly e-newletter.

Memory Lane

Take a stroll down memory lane and revisit the myriad of memories that have helped to shape the WCRC community. This retrospective will be installed until Tuesday, September 12, 2017 so do not miss out on taking a stroll down memory lane.

Regular Gallery Hours: Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm.
