Autumn In Color: A Guided Painting Workshop with Nicole Goldenhersh (V)

November 14 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join us for a relaxing, beginner-friendly painting workshop inspired by the rich colors, warmth, and beauty of autumn. We’ll begin with a brief, accessible introduction to color theory, exploring how artists use color, value, temperature, and contrast to create mood and depth. You’ll then be guided step-by-step through creating your own seasonal acrylic painting, from developing an autumn-inspired palette to layering color and adding the final details that bring your piece to life.

No prior painting or art experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and willingness to experiment. This workshop is designed as a welcoming, low-pressure space to slow down, enjoy the creative process, and spend time immersed in making something with your own hands. Whether you’re new to painting or simply looking for a peaceful creative experience, you’ll leave with a finished seasonal artwork and the joy of having explored something new.

All materials will be provided for pick up at WCRC (2908 Ellsworth Street, Berkeley, CA 94705) prior to workshop. Please email: Wellness@WCRC.org if special accommodations are needed.

About the Instructor:
Nicole Goldenhersh is a 4th year medical student at the UC Irvine School of Medicine and a lifelong artist with a passion for painting and creative expression. She originally led an art workshop called Artistic Self-Discovery at WCRC in 2022. After several years away, she is excited to return to WCRC and reconnect with the community through art. Nicole believes that creativity can offer a meaningful space for self-expression, connection, and simply being present when words may not quite capture what we are experiencing.

Our classes and workshops are available to women and non-binary individuals, who are Alameda or Contra Costa County residents, and who either have/had cancer, or who are/have been a support person for someone with cancer.
