Community Education: How Do Our Bones Impact Treatment and Metastasis in Breast Cancer?

July 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Please join Women’s Cancer Resource Center in welcoming Dr. Igor Bado of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai to speak on breast cancer metastasis and therapeutic resistance.

We know that metastasis causes almost all deaths related to breast cancer, and that when cancer spreads, it often goes to the bone first before spreading throughout the body. This means that understanding why bones attract and sustain cancerous cells is critical in understanding both metastasizes and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer. Dr. Bado’s research focuses on finding areas in the bone that help dormant tumor cells survive, which can make treatment harder and lead to the spread of breast cancer.

We look forward to seeing you there and answering questions that matter to you!
