Your Body Your Power with Kristen Tamsil (V)

October 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Your body is always communicating with you. The way we move, sit, stand, breathe, and carry ourselves can influence how we feel throughout the day. Your Body, Your Power is a four-part workshop series designed to help women better understand their bodies and develop practical, accessible tools for supporting musculoskeletal health.

Through approachable education, gentle movement, posture awareness, and everyday body-care strategies, we’ll explore how the different parts of the body work together and how small changes can support greater comfort, confidence, and awareness. No gym or specialized equipment is required—just curiosity and a willingness to explore how your body moves.

Your Body, Your Power: Understanding How Your Body Moves

How does your body actually move—and what happens when stress, tension, or everyday habits affect that movement? Explore the relationship between muscles, bones, joints, the nervous system, and movement while practicing gentle mobility, breathing, and grounding techniques to develop a stronger connection with your body.

Standing Tall: Posture Part 1 — Neck & Shoulder Aches

The way we hold our upper body can influence how our neck and shoulders feel. Explore the connection between posture, movement, breathing, mood, and energy while learning simple posture resets and movement strategies that can support greater comfort and ease.

Standing Tall: Posture Part 2 — Lower Back & Lower Extremity Aches

Our spine, core, hips, knees, and ankles all work together to support movement. This session explores these connections and introduces practical posture and movement strategies for navigating everyday activities with greater body awareness and confidence.

Everyday Body Care Without a Gym

Taking care of your body doesn’t require a gym or expensive equipment. Learn simple, equipment-free ways to build strength, support mobility, and care for your body during everyday activities. We’ll also explore ways to reduce the risk of common injuries and recognize the difference between expected muscle soreness and signs that your body may need additional attention.

Our classes and workshops are available to women and non-binary individuals, who are Alameda or Contra Costa County residents, and who either have/had cancer, or who are/have been a support person for someone with cancer.
