As the vibrant days of May unfolded, we’ve found ourselves at the juncture of a few bittersweet farewells to our remarkable college student volunteers and our Community Outreach Ambassador and recent pre-med graduate, Julia. At the Women’s Cancer Resource Center (WCRC), these bright individuals have brought energy, compassion, and dedication to our mission of providing free practical, emotional, and treatment support to under-resourced cancer patients in the East Bay.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming many current students and recent graduates into our fold, many of whom are aspiring healthcare professionals. Our agency takes immense pride in being a part of their lives. These students engage directly with our clients, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and a compassionate heart. They have enriched our community with their fresh perspectives and boundless enthusiasm, and we hope that their experiences here have been as meaningful to them as they have been to us.

As we bid them goodbye, our hearts are filled with optimism. We see in them the next generation of healthcare professionals who will advance health equity and justice with the same tenacity and dedication they have shown here at WCRC. They carry with them the lessons learned from our incredible community, and we trust that they will continue to champion the cause of accessible, compassionate care for all.

To Julia and our departing volunteers: Thank you for your hard work, your kindness, and your unwavering commitment to our mission. As you step forward into your future endeavors, know that you always have a home here at WCRC. We are proud of you, and we are excited to see the positive change you will bring to the world.
