What is Practical Assistance?
WCRC provides different programs and resources to help our clients access care, education, and support to guide them throughout their cancer experience.
We offer many practical assistance services including:

Financial Assistance

The Faith Fancher Breast Cancer Fund provides one-time support to low-income people actively in treatment for breast cancer and living in Alameda or Contra Costa County. The Lindy Fund provides one-time support to low-income people actively in treatment for all types of cancer (except breast) and living in Alameda or Contra Costa County. All referrals must be made by a social worker where treatment is received.
The Faith Fancher Breast Cancer Fund
Supported in part by the To Celebrate Life Foundation, The Friends of Faith, and other donors, provides one-time support to individuals with breast cancer
Minimum Requirements
Individual with low-income, actively in treatment for breast cancer and living in Alameda or Contra Costa County.
The Lindy Fund
Provides one-time financial support to people with all types of cancer, excluding breast cancer

Individual with low-income, actively in treatment for all types of cancer (except breast) and living in Alameda or Contra Costa County.
Applying to these Funds
Applications are submitted on a client’s behalf only by their medical social worker, patient navigator, or health care practitioner involved in the client’s care. While clients are not able to apply for these funds directly, we encourage clients to contact their medical social worker or health care provider as they may have applications for these funds already.
